Regulations
The Part-time Workers (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2000 (the “Regulations”) aim to ensure that part-time workers are treated no less favourably than comparable full-time workers unless this is justified on objective grounds.
The Regulations apply to part-time ‘workers’ and are not just limited to employees.
The Regulations do not give workers a right to work part-time. They only provide protection to a worker who is already working part-time.
