Main changes to the Employment Tribunal Rules

  • ET1 and ET3 – (i) the Claimant must specify what compensation is claimed plus the calculation of that compensation; (ii) parties must set out “the facts on which you rely” rather than the “grounds” (leading to lengthier pleadings?) 

  • Paper sift on receipt of claim (rules 26-28) – (i) ET staff can reject the claim where it doesn’t contain the required information (rule 10) or is not accompanied by a Tribunal fee or remission application (rule 11);
