Conducting a disciplinary investigation checklist

1.  Read the disciplinary procedure.
2.  Is the allegation made about the employee a potential breach of company rules?
3.  If so, have those rules been documented and communicated to the employee?
4.  Decide whether the allegations require a detailed investigation.  If so, decide who should carry out the investigation.  Decide what documents or evidence should be investigated and who the witnesses should be.
